Needing Each Other

He needs predictability
I need opportunity

He needs order
I need flexibility

He needs routine
I need variety

He needs time to work
I need time to think

He needs a plan
I need follow through

He needs my enthusiasm
I need his calmness

We both need each other

He needs my goals & consequences
I need his practical details

He needs utility
I need beauty

He records
I create

He builds
I decorate

We both need each other

He focuses on things
I focus on ideas

He is objective
I am empathic

He strives to maintain the good
I try to make it better

He lives in the moment
I dream of a brighter future

He is stressed by disorder and lack of a plan,
I by schedules and routine

We both need each other

He sees his work
as necessary accomplishments

I see my writing
as a way to inspire improvement

He wants all to proceed according to plan
I set goals and adjust to the moment

For him time is the punctuality of a ticking clock,
while for me it is a fluid experience

For him spelling should be precise,
while for me it is a guessable activity

He believes that trees should be pruned into order,
while I prefer to let them grow free.

We both need each other

He feels that life should be predictable,
while I want it to be exciting and meaningful.

He believes that work should be done with precision,
while I strive to avoid it if possible.

I like to take time to plan before I act,
while he shuns this activity,
and is happy to have me do it.

He believes that trees should be pruned into order,
while I prefer to let them grow free.

He believes that things should be kept
as they worked in the past,
while I long to actualize new potential.

He desires to bring order to the world,
while I desire to unleash its potential.

His thoughts come as words,
Mine as pictures

Implementer
Designer
Happy together

We both need each other
